Using Prismacolor Markers and Ink

So I have purchased a couple of Prismacolor markers and have found that they make my stamped images bleed. I did a little comparison using the 3 different ink pads that I already had. Dew Drop Brilliance in Graphite Black (top image), Stampin up Classic in Black (middle image) and Stazon in Jet Black (bottom image).

I did 4 tests, 5, 10, and then 30 minutes after stamping the image and then the last one I left for overnight (about 12 hours). I hate to say this but, Stampin Up's classic pad was the worth for all time tests. Stazon was the same for every test, bleed. And the winner but only in the category of "overnight" was the Dew Drop. I know I don't have the patience to wait over night to be able finish a project. So my Question to all of you is, what are you using with your Prismacolor or Copics Markers?

PS Sorry the picture is not that great.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #41

I just love this little monkey from C.C. Designs, if you would like to indulge a little they can be purchased at All That Scraps.

I am thinking about investing in nestabilities, what are your girls thoughts, are they worth it. I wish they would come out with die for the Cuttlebug! I will keep thinking about it, as they are very pricey and if you know me, I would need all the sizes!!! I will be heading down to the States in the summer for a week, I was thinking about getting them down there. I was looking on-line and I saw that you can get them at Jo-Anne's and they except Michael's coupons. But knowing my luck, they would be all sold out. What to do, be impatience and impulse buy or wait and take the chance?

Cardstock: Shimmery White - SU, Purely Pomegranate - SU, Berry Bliss DP - SU

Gift card holders!!!! These are Fantastic!!!

I found this wonderful Tutorial on one of the blogs that I visit, Paper Pleasing Ideas. I did a little modification on this one because my Father wanted me to make one that had 2 holders instead of one. It looks like one whole piece but it is not. I did the scoring and the had to add in the front and back pieces. I will be making more of these for Christmas and birthday's this year. They are just the right size to keep the whole card in a wallet or purse.

This is another one that I did when I first found the Tutorial. I thought the DP would be perfect for a shopping gift card.

CC157 Basic Pomegranate & TLC 161 Flap Fold Cards

Don't you just love this color combo. It is stunning!!! And this little Flap fold card is wonderful. You could even make this into a gift card holder as well. Yup, I used my new Always - SU set again, I like it just as much as Garden Whimsy. In the instructions from Scor-pal it said to use Basicgrey Magnetic snap closures, I didn't have any of those but I did have these little Velcro's. And they worked great!!! I stamped the bird with versa mark and then embossed it with black powder. I think it turned out amazing. The image just pops off the paper.

Stamps: Always
Cardstock: Basic Black - SU, Basic Grey - SU, Purely Pomegranate - SU
Ink: Black and versa mark
Accessories: embossing powder, Velcro, corner rounder, ribbon

CC159 Whisper Soft Grey & TLC160 The Negative Effect

I combined both of these challenges together. I got my order from Stampin-up and had to play with the Hodgepodge Hardware and of course Always stamp set. I love how this card turned out. The negative effect with your cuttlebug is so cool. I always show my creations to my other half to see what his opinion is. He comment was "Wow, that is cool paper, where did you get that". Well honey, I made it!!!! I have actually tried this before, but I found that I couldn't get very good coverage on the folder, I've Got It use your brayer!!! Perfect!! It works great, go figure.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #40

Isn't Tweet super cute. This is from a new set that I got from Pinkcat Studios. I just love all of their stamps. I did a very small change on the 2nd one, Why you ask? Well, I was playing with my new Prismacolor premier marker 10% grey and messed it up, then I decided to run a black marker around the white circle and slipped and made a big mark on it, so I moved the circle down so the ribbon would cover it. Which left a void on the card, the photo corners fixed it...... kinda.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what ink to use with the Prismacolor markers that will stop the bleeding?

Stamps: Tweet Plate 1

LSC159 - Tool Free

Well, here is my first 2 cards made with my new Pink Cat Studio set. Really the only difference between the 2 cards are, the ribbon on the one and the orientation. I love all things dogs, as I am sure most of you already know. And yes I have order the new dog sets from HannaStamps as well. I am SO excited about getting those as well.

So, what I was "trying" to do was make the card background look like a salon. Yup, I failed!!! hehehe. I added the ribbon on the 2nd one thinking it would be the awning, looks OK, except it was super hard to stamp on the ribbon!!! Oh well.

BSC18 & WT152 Going Dotty

Purple, Purple and more Purple Dots!!! This card is very loud!!! But it has a Bella on it, that makes is all better. Hehehe. Actually I really don't like this card at all, but thought I would share.

I did 2 challenges in one with this one. On the card base I heat embossed the dots. I was going to just Versa Mark, but I didn't think it showed the dots enough!

BCS19 & Tent Topper

This is the first time I have done a Tent Topper. I think it is a perfect solution to the tall stamped images. And the best thing about these, you don't need a different sized envelope for it. It still fits in a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.!!

For the scalloped edge on the bottom, I cut the DP the size that I wanted then lined up the DP to the bottom edge on the card base, then used the corner rounded and punched through both layers of paper. That way your scallop is the same on both layers!!!

A little tip: The base of the card is 4 1/4 square. Once I was finished the Bella layer, I took another 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card and just lined up the card and the added the Topper to make sure it would be the right size.

Stamps: Flowabella - Stamping Bella
Cardstock: Pretty in pink - SU, So Saffron - SU, K&Company DP

Easter Chipboard Coaster Boxes.

I made these Coaster Boxes for the Family. As kids growing up, we always had Easter Baskets! I remember being so excited about them, same a stocking on Christmas morning.

I really enjoy altering things, and when I found the tutorial to make these, I printed it off and started that second and made 4 of them. I think they are a great idea. Plus afterward the recipient can use the box as a pen holder. I also paper pieced the egg shell on the Chick. Sorry about the horrible picture!!!

Tip: I made a template from a coaster for future reference. That way you don't have to figure out where to punch the hole on each coaster every time.

Recipe:
Stamps: Good Egg, A - SU
Cardstock: So Saffron - SU, Mellow Moss - SU, Pale Plum, DP = K&Company
Ink: Stazon, Pale Plum - SU
Accessories: Ribbon, Creative Memories Oval cutting system, and all the tools from the tutorial.

On Thursday the 13th, Hanna Stamps released 5 new sets. They were putting on a Challenge to win a Copic marker set. Well, I had every intension to post the boxes I made before the deadline, well it didn't happen because of the time difference. But I am still going to share what I made with you all!! I don't think they would have won anyway, plus I felt bad that I was going to enter a contest for a Stamp company and not even use their stamps. I am still waiting for my orders. Shipping takes so long, cause I live in Canada. This is me pouting :-( hehehehe

This was super easy to make. They are great little gift boxes to give. The cards are 3x3. The template for the boxes can be found HERE.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #39

Is this springy enough for everyone? I thought it was super cute, when I was "planning" it. Now that I have looked at it a day later, OMG there is a lot going on. Hehehehe. I think it would have been much nicer without the background layer. But I love this paper from K&Company, it is already glittered for you!!!

On the chocolate chip layer, I didn't pierce the paper, I just used a white pen. Then for the Egg part of the Chick, I paper Pieced that part. I have been seeing alot of this lately, and it works great.

Bella Sketch Challenge #17

This is the first time I have done a Bella Sketch Challenge from SCS. What a great idea! You could have a hundred different challenges to do a day. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with them all. I started with the DP and Bella on this one. I am on a Wild Wasabi kick right now. Not sure if you can tell by the picture, but I layered a white shear ribbon and then the green one.

I stamped out a bunch of bella images from my Moms and my collection and did a little swap between us. What a great way to get the images without investing in the stamp.

Does any one else do this?

Cardstock: DP is DCWV - All dressed up, Softsky - SU, Wild Wasabi - SU, Black - SU

Just Hanging Around......SC166

When I saw this challenge I know I had to use my new set from C.C. designs Rubber Stamps. To indulge yourself please visit All That Scraps. I think all the sets are super cute. My favorite animals are Dogs, penguins and Monkeys. I have always been fascinated with them. When I saw this set, I HAD TO HAVE IT!!!.

I started with the DP and then matched the other colors to it. I seem to do that most of the time. On the piece of Wild Wasabi, I scored it at 1/4' increments to mimic the veins on a banana leaf.

Recipe:
Stamps: C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps - Monkey Love
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate - SU, Wild Wasabi - SU, Barely Banana - SU, Kraft - SU, White - SU, DP is Colorbok scrap pack that I picked up in Sandpoint at the Walmart.

Limited Sketch Challenge #157 - SCS

I love doing Acetate Cards. The only problem with them is they don't photograph very well at all. Sorry about the bad picture, but I am sure you get the idea though.

This challenge was to make a card by only using 1 (one) flower stamp, no DP, no cuttlebug, and no background stamps. I went with the acetate card as the showcase a main image very well.

Stamps: Delight in Life - SU
Cardstock: acetate, Chocolate Chip - SU, Pretty in Pink - SU
