Diva In Training!!!! PuppyBella

This one is inspired by 3 things, my little Mya and My mom's little Tia (she is a tiny Yorkie) and the fact that my parents are leaving for Mexico in a week. I wish we could join them ;-(. Again I used Basicgrey DP. The rub-on "Diva in Training" is also basicgrey. I then put the bling on the rub-on, purse and photo corners.

Doggie Bag Bella

Here is my resent creation with my Bella Stamps. http://www.stampingbella.com/ I am sure I will be going back soon to purchase some more. I really love the designer papers from Basicgrey. I even made my Mom buy some on the weekend. Anyway, I thought I would explain a little bit about the scalloped element. As I didn't have the correct punch to punch the center part out the the punch pals set (that is what I use for the "flowers" they are really snowflake) I cut it out with my new Tim Holtz exacto knife.

So, there are 3 scalloped pieces, 1 certainley celery, 2 shimmery white. One the shimmery white without the hole I stamped and then dazzling diamond it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Bella - Parisbella
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst -SU, Certainley Celery - SU, Bordering Blue - SU, Shimmery White - SU, Basicgrey (not sure what set it came from)
Ink: stazon jet black, Almost Amethyst
Accessories: watercolor crayons, dazzling diamonds - SU, aqua pens.
Enjoy & TFL
PS, the best is yet to come.......yes another Bella, these are some inspiration for you Mom.

WT154 Window Card

So this is my take on a window card. This is one of the first techniques I learnt years ago. It is just using 2 different sizes of punches, it really can be any shape and then lining it all up. One tip, I first figure out all my layers, punch the base first (close to being a centered as I can) then take the first layer and then trace with a pencil to mark where I am going to punch, then again for the next layer.

Recipe:
Stamps: I am not sure what they are called, but I got them at Michael's
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate - SU, Wild Wasabi - SU, Black
Ink: Stazon, versamark
Accessories: embossing powder, beads, fishing line

Enjoy & TFL

SC164

So to the left is my first attempt at the SC for this week. Then I quickly realized that it didn't really match the challenge. So the one on the right I did to match the challenge.
My girlfriend Joyce gave me this set as I had helped her out on a class and now she wants it back!!! Hehehehe. I didn't think I would get much use out of it, as I am not really a flower girl, but I think these turned out really good. For the flower petals, what I did was stamp the image with pretty in pink and the took my aqua pens in a little bit of purely pomegranate and did a layer around the middle to give the petals some dimension.

Recipe:
Stamps: All the best - SU
Card stock: chocolate chip - SU, mellow moss - SU, sage shadow - SU, blush DP - basicgrey
Ink: mellow moss - SU, pretty in pink - SU, purely pomegranate - SU
Accessories: chocolate chip ribbon - SU, Heide Swapp bling, jeweled flower from Michael's craft store.

Enjoy and TFL

BELLA!!!! MWAH & Beate Weekend Sketch Challenge #36

So, does everyone else LOVE Bella stamps as much as I do? I thought this was going to be a great card, but it really didn't end up being as GREAT as I wanted it to. I loved the image and the new DP Summer Picnic, but as i put it together, it really didn't turn out as I had hoped.

Recipe:
Stamps: cuppacakeabella - Bella stamps
Cardstock: summer picnic - DP - SU, real red - SU, Bashful Blue - SU
Ink: Pallet black
Accessories: dazzling diamonds - SU, real red striped grosgrain ribbon - SU

Girl's Challenge

One of my girlfriends put out a challenge to a group of us. We were all thinking about selling our old stamp set, as we have not been using them. Well, she said "before we do that, lets have a girls night and take these old set and make cards and see if we can renew our love for them" This is one of the cards I came up with, the same night she put out the challenge. And as you can guess, we still haven't done the girls night, but I am sure we will.

Recipe:

Stamps: love ya bunches - SU retired (i think)

Card Stock: Groovy Guava Textured - SU, Soft sky - SU, Fall Flowers DP - SU

Ink: Stazon - Jet Black, watercolor crayons - SU

Ways to Use It Challenge #149

Embossing, I love the looks of it. I wanted to do a very simply card that really only focused on the embossed image. I actually used DP for the card base.

Cardstock: Purely Pomegrante - SU, DCWV The far East Stack DP.

Ink: Versamark

Accessories: fine detail Silver embossing powder, and asian coin.

This was super easy to do. Simply is sometimes must better. Enjoy and TFL.

Kyle's Valentine's Card to ME!!!

This is just too funny. This is the card the Kyle (my darling, other half) gave to me on Valentine's day along with a Pandora braclet and charms. He actually took the time to MAKE me a card!!! Go figure....I thought it was soo cute yet very funny. For those that can't figure what the red, black and white image is, it is some sort of video game guy riding a motorcycle popping a wheelie!!! My Kyle is a video game junky, need I say more. I craft and he plays games. I think it is a fair trade.

I am not sure if you can see but his sentiment says, "I Wheelie Love You!". We both laught our butts off. I Wheelie love you too dear!!!!

Last Valentine's

I did these little treats for only Guy that we have in our department at work. I put one 100 calorie chocolate bar into the "sleeve".
I measured the bar and then figured out the measurements for the "sleeve". For this one I use, Purely Pomegrante - SU 5" 3/4 long x 3" 3/4 wide. I then used my Scor-pal at 1" 3/4, 3" 1/2, leaving a 1/4" for tacky tape. I then used my wider tacky tape for the bottom and ran it through my crimper. A little ribbon and tag from Happy Day - SU and a little stickles and I was done. These were super easy to do. Enjoy. TFL
I wish everyone a very special and Happy Valentine's Day. Have a great day loving your loved ones.

Valentine Boxes #2

So these are the boxes that I made for my girlfriends at work. As I mentioned before, I stuffed some of them with "cheesy" candies and some with WeightWatchers 1 point candies. I used my Cricut expressions (my DH gave it to me) and Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge. I have really enjoyed my Cricut, I have to just remember that I have it and use it more often. LOL.

I originally started out making the milk cartons, but found it alittle time consuming, not that I don't like them, I was just running out of time. I am not sure where I got the "paperclip" but it worked perfectly for keeping the candies in the box.

I hope the girls will enjoy them.
So, I was trying a new set up with taking pictures, what do you girls think, are the pictures better? Please comment and let me know what you think.

Enjoy TFL

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #34

Well, I would like you to meet Ellie (I named her LOL).

I think she is super cute. This is another stamp that I got from Peachy Keen Stamps. I really like their stamps, they are fun and happy.

I used a lot of swirls in this card. It made me think of water that Ellie could be shooting out her trunk.

Anyhow, enough of my ramblings, here is the card details.

Base: 4"1/4 x 5" 1/2 Basic Grey - SU
4 x 5 1/4 shimmery white, I used my cuttlebug on this,
The DP is basicgrey (not basic grey - SU cardstock) I then used pink twine around the DP.
Then I layered Pretty in Pink - SU and Basic Grey - SU, and then stamped Ellie on watercolor paper. Colored her in with my watercolor crayons - SU and an aqua pen. And here she stands all happy and pretty.!!! Enjoy

Yappy Day!!! Sketch Challenge 162

As I am a dog lover, as soon as I saw this set Yappy Day - SU, I had to have it. I thought it would be great for this challenge.

I also thought it was a great idea to use my scrap pieces of paper. We all have them and I know I never make it a point to use them. It really is such a waste not to use them up.

I am really loving the looks of the scalloped edge right now.....and of course the ticket corner punch.

Here is the link to the Challenge at Splitcoaststampers http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322082

Ok, now the details of the card. PS, I will always work from the base of the card up. I think it is easier explaining it this way, as that is normally how I assembled the card.

Card base is Chocolate Chip - SU 4"1/4 x 5"1/2. Shimmery White - SU 4" x 5 1/4 then I used the round corner punch for the scalloped edge, then I punched all the holes with the smallest hand punch and applied my Brads (bone shaped). Purely Pomegrante - SU 4" 3/4 x 2", ticket corner - SU punched all corners, Wild Wasabi textured - SU 3" 3/8 x 2" 1/2, ticket cornered only the upper 2 corners, Soft Sky - SU 4" x 2" 1/2, Shimmery White - SU 2" 1/16 x 3" 7/8 stamped the bone with creamy caramel - SU.

As for the Dogs and the house, I used watercolor paper, then cut them out using an exacto knife once the paper had dried. Then I put the house on flat, and popped up both of the dogs. As Joyce would say, "but you hate cutting little things out", you know I do.......hehehe). I know most of you are looking at this and saying, "she should have colored the Poodle different". I just can't, my family had a black Poodle (he is now in doggy heaven) and I will always color them Black in memory of my MacKenzie. (tears are flowing)

I did this little guy awhile ago, but as I was posting Yappy Days set, I figured I would share these as well. They are Shaker Magnets (like you couldn't tell ;-)) They are just missing a little bit of paw printed ribbon around them.

Enjoy, TFL

Valentine Boxes #1

Here is one of my new creations. I totally copied the tutorial off of Splitcoaststamps. See the link for the complete instructions on how to create this. The tutorials are great for new ideas. I know they helped me get my creative juices flowing. I have included the link below.
There are only a couple of thing that I have changed. I used my Cricut to cut out the tags, and then used my sakura Gelly Roll pen on the butterflies (Garden Whimsy - SU), which made them sparkle just a little bit. As you can see, my corner punch is not SU (sorry Joyce and Kim) but I was at walmart a while ago and they had them there for a $6 a piece. There were 2 different sizes, so I bought both. It is so easy doing the scalloped edge with them. Thanks for showing me how to do the scalloped edge Joyce.

Once I completed putting together the boxes, I filled them with "cheesy" valentines candy. I will also be filling some of them with "weight watchers" candy, as a couple of my work friends (and myself) are on the program and I didn't want to tempt them too much. I hope the recipients will like them.

Well, I have made some other valentines boxes with my Cricut and I will be posting them very soon.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/2_5_7_10_box/

Well, I am off now to try and complete the Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge and to wait for the new MFT stamps to be released. I am excited about the new sets.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #33

I did this challenge today. Another one of Beate's wonderful challenge's.
When I saw the sketch I knew I had to use the little asian coins that I had just picked up at Walmart.
The card base size is 3"1/2 x 8" 1/2 in Wild Wasabi -SU. I have never made this card size before. I really like it.

Then I did a layer of DP that I had from DCWV - Far East 1"3/4 and Purely Pomegrante 1"1/2- SU. I know these 2 pieces are not the same size, but I wanted to showcase the DP more. I used a 1/16"hole punch on the DP to put the coins on with a brad. I find it easier to just use the hand punch then the eyelet setter.

The next layer is Wild Wasabi - SU 2"1/4 x 7" 1/4. Then the Purely Pomegrante - SU 1" 7/8 x 1 7/8 then on top Shimmery White - SU 1" 3/4 x 1 3/4. The sketch called for ribbon along the bottom, but I didn't think ribbon would match the card very well, so I used some hemp twine instead. (pat on the back to me, much better ;-)) Then tied a bigger coin on to that. Done & Done. Enjoy, TFL

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #32

And Here is my first Post.....I really wanted to do this last weekend, but ran out of time. I hope you enjoy, TFL.
This is the card that I did for Beate's weekend challenge. I just got my order of Peachy Keen stamps in the mail. I wanted to use them, and I couldn't think of a better way to start. ;-)

I started with a 5x5 card base in Soft Sky SU.
Next layer is Fall Flowers DP-SU 4" 3/4 x 4" 3/4.
I stamped the image of the Turtle on Shimmery White with Stazon Jet Black ink. Watercolored the image trying to match the green colors in the layers.

Under the Turtle image I did 2 layers one of Ruby Red 3" 1/8 x 3" 1/8, Old Olive 3" 1/4 x 3" 1/4.

Before I glued the Fall flowers DP down I tried some ribbon, (Michaels Craft Store).

The sentiment is from Garden Whimsey - SU, again on Shimmery White and the layered with Ruby Red, and Old Olive. I ticket corner punched the bottom layer.

I got these awesome buttons from my girlfriend for Christmas and thought the went great with the colors, Basic Grey's Collection of "Mellow" Buttons.
